Based in the outskirts of Lorient, the company SLCE Watermakers has manufactured for 30 years equipment for the production of drinking water from sea water, brackish water or mains water.
7500 units are already in operation on all types of ships (pleasure, fishing, civil, military) and land, industrial and offshore installations. The teams composed of engineers and technicians study the requirements and adapt to specific needs and requests. SLCE Watermakers has been ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2007 for its entire activity, from studies to the provision of equipment and training to their customers.
The reverse osmosis process
SLCE watermakers offers a complete range of drinking, industrial or ultra-pure reverse osmosis water production units from 1 to 1500 m3/day. Reverse osmosis is a physical process that makes it possible to desalinate seawater or demineralize brackish water through the use of a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane allows water molecules (H2O) to pass through and blocks salts as well as all organic compounds. The water that passes through it is thus purified, mineral and drinkable.
Tailor-made support
SLCE Watermakers is a structured and human-sized company able to support all projects by providing technical, commercial or logistical solutions à la carte thanks to a single dedicated interlocutor. The manufacturing process can be evaluated during a visit to the assembly lines and the test bench. Before being shipped, each unit is tested in real conditions on a test bench: pressure, flow, salinity, etc. The factory tests are conducted in the presence of customers and / or an independent certification body that authenticates the agreement between the test procedures announced, the tests carried out and the results obtained. The support also includes the training of customers and people in charge of the maintenance of osmosis units.
Land/Sea equipment around the world
For kitchens, swimming pools, laundries, the giants of the seas also call on SLCE Watermakers. A quarter of the company's turnover is made on ocean liners. Those of the EDGE series built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire are equipped with units producing 1275 m3 of water /day. Many terrestrial achievements are also to their credit: the island of Sein, a nickel plant in New Caledonia, base camps in the Sahara, a power plant in Tunisia, a green hydrogen production plant in Vendée…
Latest installation: a unit producing 180 m3/24 hours of drinking water on the Tuvalu archipelago in Bora Bora. The installation includes an energy recovery system that makes it possible to divide the power consumption by 2.5 compared to a conventional unit.
