Over 1979 miles, 34 sailors and their Figaro Beneteau 3 boats will outsmart the pitfalls of a three-leg course. All the boats being identical, only the fighting spirit and the skill of the sailors will make the difference to climb to the top step of the podium. In the absence of Pierre Quiroga, all hopes are allowed for the new generation ready to fight it out! Captain Hook of the Races
Three-time Paralympic Games medalist, five-time world champion and the first disabled skipper to have completed the Vendée globe, Damien Seguin is on the rise despite his disability! The Solitaire du Figaro has indeed marked his sporting career: "The Figaro is the first boat that I worked with when I wanted to start offshore racing and the Solitaire is the first major race in which I participated in 2006. It marks the beginning of my 2nd career after my Paralympic career." This competitor at heart does not lack humor: he makes his handicap a strength and crosses the finish line of the Vendée Globe in 7th position disguised as Captain Hook!
Nantes, Home Port
Licensed in Nantes at Sport Nautique de l'Ouest since the early 2000s, this sponsorship has also been a matter of the heart. Loyal to the club that welcomed him with open arms on his return from Guadeloupe, he knows that his high-level career is anchored to the Loire Atlantique. The SNO Nantes also offered him an ideal platform to develop projects for his association "Feet and hands". Initially created to centralize aid to access offshore racing, it now has the mission of making sailing accessible to as many people as possible, not only within the sports clubs. He will therefore be at home in Nantes to attend the departure on August 16: "the Figaro fleet in the city center with easy access to the public, it's going to be great.
