On the last weekend of May, the city of Lorient will host the departure of The Ocean Race Europe. This international high-flying race is the first stage of a decade of activities including the edition of the iconic crew race around the world – The Ocean Race – which will take place in 2022-2023.

The Ocean Race Europe brings together the best international sailors, divided into two classes of boats, the VO65 and the IMOCA, who will participate in the next round-the-world race. During the last weekend of May, The Ocean Race Europe will depart from Lorient and sail between the North Atlantic coast of Europe towards the Mediterranean Sea on a course that will include up to five legs. The boats will race to Genoa, Italy, during the third week of June.
